Get Connected

Get Connected - The Launch

Tesco/Pinewood School Local MP supports us to get local businesses 'Connected'

Friday 10th July at the Marriott Cheshunt, local businesses and non-profit organisations 'Get Connected'

Over 25 local businesses and 15 community organisations from Broxbourne got together at our pioneering event to be inspired, energised and connected!

This event was the offical launch of Get Connected - as you know we are a social enterprise who connects, supports and facilitates partnerships between business and community organisations.

This launch was a showcase to our groundbreaking venture that delivers real community benefit through bringing together the sometimes vastly different worlds of business and local non-profit making organisations.

Networking

The key theme of the event was to connect local businesses with non-profit organisations and demonstrate how engagement in community activities will work for their business growth and in turn support the local community, building its capacity and prosperity.

Charles Walker MP

Charles Walker, MP for Broxbourne gave a energetic and focused speech, “I want you as businesses to make a profit and be an integral part of building our local and wider economy. I also want you to be active in your local community, engaging in activities which support the people in our community and business growth".

Charles went on to give great commendation and support for the forward thinking organisation that Nicci Statham (Chief Executive) is continually developing into a dynamic social enterprise.

Marriott CheshunteKuiLibriuM

Networking and ConnectingNicci Statham, Chief Executive of Get Connected commented, “This event was the coming together of a range of businesses, large and small, and local community organisations. The event was a huge success, with inspirational speeches from Charles Walker, Tesco & Pinewood School and our Back to Work project for unemployed people. All of these showcases demonstrated how inspiring and successful it is for local businesses to work in partnership in their communities..."
