Paradise Park & Volunteer Centre

Paradise Wildlife ParkParadise Wildlife Park support 2 groups of unemployed individuals to have valuable work experience...

Paradise Wildlife Park provided dedicated business focused tours and work shadowing experiences for two groups on 25th and 26th March.  They have even given 2 of the individuals an opportunity to try out for voluntary and paid work.

The tours included a talk by directors of the park and a tour of the park's business premises.  The groups then were able to shadowing the park's staff as they worked, ask questions and see for real what it is like to work at this great local employer.

The projects were an employability initiative organised through a partnership between Get Connected and the Volunteer Centre for Broxbourne & East Herts.

Nicci Statham, Chief Executive of Get Connected commented, “Get Connected exists to engage local businesses in community activities, however the willingness and dedication from all those involved really surpassed our greatest expectations. This is such a pioneering example of how small and local businesses can work in partnership in their local communities..."

Volunteer CentreLoretta Borg, Volunteer Centre Manager commented, “the Volunteer Centre supports people to make positive changes by providing employability training, coaching & mentoring and access to work experience. Two of the participants have been offered unexpected opportunities since participating, one as a volunteer the other as an employee – which is great news".
